Nostalgia lane - just found an old folio with stuff i had pretty much forgotten about. This was a page from ‘The Big Book of Urban Legends’ published by one of DC Comics divisions - i think it was the Vertigo arm before it officially became Vertigo. Unfortunately i think it was also the first time i ever inked anything (certainly the first time where money changed hands) - it’s a bit of a shocker and i’m surprised i got away with it looking at it now. Tempted to re-ink over it to see what i would do now, maybe on a quiet day (those do still exist, don’t they?)
slightly updated version of an older image. hugely simplyfied and off to be letterpressed this week. the black part will be white on the eventual print. so only a relief ‘ghost image’ will remain. may all in end in tears!
Issue 5 of 100% Biodegradable is out and features one of my old strips called First Impressions. A lot of artists don’t like to see older work get a new airing but although I’m dismissive of my art on the strip I have enjoyed being part of small press comic again. Available to download here and also here with 25% OFF until July 28th.
Hey guys! Super short post cause I’m still on me travels. So here’s some concept work for an upcoming anthology and a tiger, because it was a commission and it’s a tiger. What beats a picture of a tiger? With an eyepatch no less.
Next week I owe you guys a fantastic piece of art.
